Yesterday I had quite a full day planned for Tasteful Spaces. Warehouse inventory organization, an occupied home staging consultation, as well as, office work. But Mother Nature decided that instead I needed to slow down and enjoy a quiet snow day.
Remember that exuberant feeling when you were a little kid and you woke up to that fresh blanket of snow? Honestly, at first, I did not feel that way. I was aggravated because I knew I could not accomplish all the things on my list. But then I let it go, made a cup of tea and settled down in my cozy chair. Gazing out at the falling snow, I felt grateful for this quiet moment.
Soon the white will be green, and the view from my cozy chair will be very different. I began to dream of the beauty that spring brings, with all of the new growth, the sprouting of buds and the blooming of flowers. It will be here soon enough and there will be little time to sit in my chair.
My aggravation has turned into appreciation for this opportunity to slow down. Thank you Mother Nature.
